When preparing forms in Word, it would often be desirable to insert a block of text or a complete document based upon the choice offered in a drop-down form field. In the example below, the form field has three choices called Job1, 2 & 3. The actual names of the choices doesn't matter a great deal as long as the appropriate changes are made in the conditional fields.

Word has no built-in function to invert text, to rotate it by 180 degrees or produce mirror imaged text. A simple solution is to select the text and its box and copy to the clipboard then paste into a graphics application, such as Windows Paint. There, there are tools to flip or rotate the text according to requirements. The downside is that the text becomes no longer editable.

Although it is not a function I personally have had use for, the ability to have Word read out the text is nevertheless a function that many Word users find useful. On researching the problem, I noted that Microsoft's own knowledge base article.....

Word is irrevocably tied to the Windows printer driver. It needs a printer driver available in order to format the document correctly. If there is no printer driver installed or you have a printer driver which cannot use fonts set as default, such as the Generic / Text only driver, as shown below, only a token selection of fonts will be shown in the font drop down menu - as above.
